Late Night Snacker Image*As a light-hearted aside, I thought it would be fun to share my own response to question #6 above, “What is the funniest thing to ever happen during a Thanksgiving weekend?”

My husband, Marc, and his brothers, Brian and Daniel, tell a hilarious Thanksgiving story…

The year was 1994.  They had had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.  Everyone helped my mother-in-law, Susan, to put away the leftovers and clean the dishes.  Then they all went down to the historic and beautiful, Country Club Plaza, which is spectacularly lit up every year with holiday lights.  Hundreds of thousands of people crowd into the area, watch the lights turn on and head to restaurants and bars to toast the evening.  It’s great fun!

At any rate, they had an enjoyable evening out (in fact, a young Marc met a gal who he’d actually gone to high school with – someone who he had not met before – her name was, Alana… a year later, the two would go on their first date… the rest is history!).  Around midnight, Marc returned home and decided he could use a little something to eat.  He went down to the refrigerator, reached for the turkey and found barely more than a carcass complete with a note which read, “Beware the Late Night Snacker!” affixed by the tines of a gleaming fork to the little turkey that remained!

To this day, it’s unclear who the true culprit was and Marc continues to be haunted by that dreadful Late Night Snacker!
