Optimistic About 2015

Time sure does fly by, doesn’t it?  In the blink of an eye, POOF! another year, gone.  It was a tough one, 2014.  Vis-à-vis other years, it seemed to be filled with more heartbreak and change and challenge and oddities and disappointments and sadness and loss than expected.  Moving past the downside, I must also share it was complete with tremendous elation and revelation and excitement and new opportunities and goal achievement and loads of fun, too!  The highs and lows stood in stark contrast to one another.  They were enough to send one into a tailspin.  And, in fact, there were moments I would have liked to have fallen into oblivion and succumb to the pain.  However, had I allowed that to happen, I wouldn’t have been privy to those amazing moments that were so life-altering, in a good way.  Having “survived” both, I have emerged stronger and ready to take on what’s next.

What’s next is 2015.  I am so excited about 2015!  When I think of the possibilities, I simply smile; it brings a little twinkle to my eye and my heart skips a beat.  I expect to publish approximately 80 blogs, a minibook, a “big” book; I expect to grow my business as a speaker, as the “Networking Sherpa,” as a coach, as a consultant; I expect to Connect or re-Connect with thousands more people.  I expect to travel the world with my family.  I expect to serve my community in a multitude of ways.  It’s going to be an amazing time and I’m excited to kick it off.

These feelings remind me of a piece I wrote for Forbes.com in 2012, “Optimism Should Be at the Top of an Entrepreneur’s Checklist.”  It was published during a time of entrepreneurial growth despite the tough economy.  The point of the article was that the most successful entrepreneurs were the optimistic ones.  Not the kind who simply see the world through rose-colored glasses, but the ones who, despite the trials and tribulations that go along with starting up and maintaining a successful business, remain energetic, fun to be around and have a positive outlook for the future.  They are, need I say it?  Optimistic!  This doesn’t apply only to entrepreneurs – it is a prevailing truism for us all.Cartoon Alana Confetti Happy New Year 2015

Bottom line:  I’m optimistic about 2015!  Optimism is one of my favorite emotions, one of my favorite attitudes.  It fosters hope, happiness and drive.  It propels people forward to help them achieve their goals.  Among a heap of goals and ambitions for 2015, I’m going into the New Year with just one real “resolution” – that is, it’s my plan to see every situation through the lens of optimism and positivity.  Will you join me?  It’s going be a great year!

Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and Prosperous 2015!  Cheers!
