V is for Value

I find that whenever people get together in a networking capacity, there is value to exchange.  Irrespective of who asked for the meeting or how junior or senior someone is, there is an exchange of time, information and resources.  It’s what makes connecting with others so worthwhile.

In fact, the best networking interactions are bi-directional in nature.  And, even if you have a particular ask of the person with whom you are meeting, be sure to find out how you can assist them, too.

  • Need an opportunity?  Have an opportunity?  Let others know.
  • Need a connection?  Have a connection?  Share a referral.
  • Need information?  Have information?  Make the exchange.

Whatever your station… whatever your role… whatever your level of experience… whatever your age… you have value to add.  Through value exchange, you will be enriched personally and professionally.

Happy Networking!
